I received the unit damaged. I contacted via phone numerous times, only allowed to leave message. And, I left 3 messages. No response. Then, I tried email. 3 letters to date. No response either. Very bad customer service. Will not recommend to do business or even recommend to purchase this product. Poorly made. The only good thing abt this product is it’s cuteness. The bowl is so thin and easily dented. And, it arrived dented. If there is zero star. This is what they deserved.

I take my Itaki Chef to work on my long shifts. Now that it is finally cooling down a little bit in Australia, people come sniffing around my office door wanting to know what mysterious meals I have created on my desk. This version is definitely much better than my Itaki Pro. (It never sealed properly.) - it’s easier to carry and seems less bulky. Obviously it would benefit from a better cook book, or online instructions, and I really wish we could purchase extra cooking/storing bowls too. Please Itaki, can you sell these separately also?

Lid is not tight so it is better to fill up food that has sauce or liquid in big bowl and rice on top.

Works great heats up pretty fast. Only uses 200w so easy to connect to any inverter. Doesnt burn so when you cook the food too long it doesnt really matter too much.
Maybe an sticker/label with coocktimes would be nice instead of a paper/online version.

What I love about this cooker is the convivence. It's light and easy to carry with you. I took my cooker to work for my first test drive. I decided to make curry, I got this idea from emmymadeinjapan on YouTube. I was so happy to see everything turned out great on my first try and has been ever since.
The serving size is perfect as well.

Excellent customer service and very friendly support staff! I've been using this almost everyday. Just thought I warn everyone as truth be told I initially bought a slightly cheaper black/white colored knockoff on Amazon before I got the real Pro. I later found out Itaki co DOESN'T even sell on Amazon so don't get fooled by counterfeit listings on there like I did! The knockoff would get hot at first but the food didn't always cook through and there was a smell but the worst part came later. The thing had a lot of reviews but the Amazon seller with questionable grammar asked in those feedback emails for a ""5 star" review by a certain DATE for me to claim a price refund on the purchase BEFORE I even had a chance to use it more than 3 times but stupid me I thought why not. First red flag. I didn't think much of the funny smell at at the time but after about 4 uses the socket where it connects to the contraption started to smoke and the white container smelled of strong putrid burning plastic! Needless to say I was so DAMN pissed and wanted to return it but the shady seller never got back to me so I filed a claim and it wasn't an easy process. All my subsequent reviews on it warning people was taken down by the Amazon seller but after browsing the 1 star reviews I notice I wasn't the only one with similar complaints and I'm sure many tried but only a few actually made it on! Do NOT trust Amazon reviews from unknown names as NOW I'm pretty sure MOST of them are fake from phony purchases! I reached out to Itakico and they told me I wasn't the only one and apparently they've been in lawsuits against Amazon for IP violation since they don't even sell the real itaki co there and only dangerous knockoffs. Now that I have the real thing the support from Itaki co is a far cry from those scammers on Amazon and there's actual real support. Also thank you for the gorgeous spoons with my REAL Itaki co order appreciate the kindness but I know it's not their fault. Save yourself the trouble and get the real thing, it's not worth the few extra dollars saved and not worth playing with safety! I'll be posting recipes soon on Youtube and give my final review and warning as well but so far Pro has been working great and WITHOUT the horrible smell or burning. I can't believe Amazon doesn't vet these knockoffs or check for REAL reviews, it's just horrible business practice! I'm sorry if this isn't a proper review or if it's appropriate to post this here. If it's not please let me know I'll take it down and do a proper review but the truth needs to be told so others don't make the same mistake!

Made this from scratch with fresh shrimp, frozen scallops and potatoes and rice ontop. Total prep time the night before was around 10 mins and the inserts all come with storage lids I can bring the next day. The best part about it is how quiet and easy it is to use to get a homecooked meal. I can just set it and forget about it without bothering anyone. This thing could even fit in my desk and no one realized I was making lunch in there! The golden spoon looks quite incredible with a very long handle. The recipebook is good but perhaps a bit too "healthy" for me but their Itaki group has very helpful with very creative recipe ideas if you want more inspiration. Oh and the lunchbag that came with it is very cute! Everyone's posting about what lunchbags came with theirs which can be a hit or miss in design but it's funny! I'm usually very hard to convince when it comes to these 'gimmicks' but this is probably the most useful thing I've bought this year. I'm also impressed with their patient customer service at first when bombarding them with questions about warranty but you get free replacement for the device and unlimited replacement for parts within 5 years for any reason which is a deal-breaker for me! Will definitely recommend for friends and family! Thanks

My 2 pros came in today and I got so excited so tested it out right away! Shrimp came out perfect and bouncy and the noodles were surprisingly not soggy at all. My hubby and I will be with our magic itakis A LOT in the coming days. Probably won't be eating out for a while anyways by the look of things right now!

I LOVE THIS THING! I can't believe the power it has to be so compact! The food comes out HOT and delicious! Meat is cooked all the way through and one can achieve some pretty awesome flavors! I have been preparing meals and putting them in zip lock bags in the freezer. You can pull out a frozen pack and cook it to perfection in this product! The size is PERFECT for making a pretty good sized lunch or dinner. Definately thinking of buying more for fam and friends as gifts! ;3 (Also the lil character on the front is cute.)

Lovely dimsum while working. So easy and useful! My only complaint is their recipebook only has low carb chicken and veggie options so if you aren't into that kind of stuff better try other steam recipes or join an Itaki group.

Compact, yet huge capacity for great steamed food.
I tested out the pro model the moment I received it. Threw in some rice, veggies and some sauces. Every veggie was cooked perfectly and the rice was nice and fluffy.

Great Product, Mediocre Support
The hardware is efficient, effective and safe. It is actually a very clever way to cook a variety of foods without much effort. I like it and would definitely recommend it, especially to people who don't have a kitchen. My issue with this product is the support behind it. The recipe book I received is pretty lame, actually more of a quick product guide. There are recipes online but few and the instructions are often confusing, misleading or wrong in some way. They include an egg stand with the hardware but nowhere! (not online or in printed info) do they tell you how to use that egg stand! So the user is left to sort out what will work and what will not work, which part of the recipe is correct and how to expand on the recipes that will work. That said, I like the product and hope the support improves soon.

I am very very happy with my Itaki pro. I am a coeliac, that's the main reason why I chose to buy it. In the kitchen people are using a lot of wheat flour to cook nearly everyday and sometimes they don't even clean. With my Itaki I can cook most of food in my room, avoiding accidental cross contamination at all and eating more than I did before, as I was scared of being glutened. I will bring this fantastic jewel on holiday with me always and it will allow me to save a lot of money as well, because I buy fresh and naturally gluten free food like meat, rice... . Really really happy with that, thank you!!

Excellent idea. The inserts are very good quality and easily removable for washing. The lunchbox cooks quite quickly and does not overcook or make meats tough like on the stovetop. Overall very decent!

It is a useful item but the courier service they used was awful. They missed a delivery but didn't even leave out a note. After a month I realized it's no where to be found and realized they already returned it. Luckily customer service did replace it, but not pleasant experience
